The Hatta Pools are very popular with day tourists as a spot for relaxation and swimming. The Hatta Pools is a group of fissures that run through the valley amid the Hajar Mountains. The Pools are a dramatic sight, hidden from view until you reach them. Hatta Pools, with their colourful rock faces and cascading waterfalls, are a picturesque destination with swimming opportunities in natural pools a welcome bonus. The multi-layered rocks have been molded by years of the water filling the pools. Swimming is permitted in the Hatta Pools, however lack of rainfall can mean that they are too low. This is an easily arranged trip that can be undertaken in half a day. The drive from Dubai to Hatta takes about an hour and is as fascinating as the destination itself, with the superb highway cutting through rolling dunes and mountain landscapes. The Hatta Fort Hotel is a popular mountain-resort complex and a drive to Hatta Pools could be followed by lunch at the hotel and a leisurely afternoon at its swimming pool – or you could even overnight there.
Visitors can get almost to the Hatta Pools by vehicle but within a short distance from the pools, you must walk to reach them. The spring water also hides a waterfall inside the canyon.
