Sculpture Workshops with Visiting Artist Linda Joyce

Dubai International Art Centre is organising two one-day sculpture workshops with visiting artist Linda Joyce.

A self-taught artist, apart from accepting an invitation to study briefly at The Frye Academy in Denn Hagg, while living in Holland and with over 30 years sculpting experience, Linda insists that she is still learning.

Linda has lived in Australia, Holland, Africa, and Spain and has travelled extensively while bringing up her 5 children. She has spent the majority of her years as a freelance Sculptor producing cast works for sale in bronze and bronze resin and has been responsible for many sculptures available in galleries and gift shops in previous years in the UK. Now concentrating more on non-commercial commissions and teaching.

Although she specializes in Portraiture and movement, due to her passion for dance, her sculptures range from highly detailed animal studies to inspired figure studies, which have sold in Harrods.

Linda exhibits a fine mastery of sculpting with the ability to execute fine copy works as well as original creations. Her works vary from life size to miniatures. With her children all grown up, she considers it is important not only to learn, but also to use her special talent to encourage others and to this end she still devotes most of her life teaching.
