Abdul Latif's work successfully resolves the challenge that faces many Arab artists: it captures the beauty of a rich and colourful heritage, but is not restricted by its conventions.
He is deeply inspired by ancient Arab mosaics and architecture, which he portrays in a refreshingly contemporary way.
Besides being both spiritual and sensual, his work has a rhythmic musical quality.
A trained graphic designer, Abdul Latif is as much influenced by modern trends in art and design, as he is by the colourful history and heritage of his native Syria.
