Syrian artist Mustafa Ali is one of the Middle East's finest sculptors.
His work has been shown throughout the region, from Damascus to Dubai, on countless occasions over the past 20 years.
During that time, he has developed an appreciative and devoted audience.
His figurative sculptures, primarily of people and animals, often depict old Syrian mythology.
Many capture the natural beauty of the human form; others playfully depict subjects in the most unlikely poses.
A firm believer in personal and artistic growth, Mustafa has several degrees and diplomas, including a second Fine Arts degree from an Italian University. He also creates the most wonderful and lyrical furniture, in which he incorporates fine bronze sculptures in walnut. - Born in Lattakia, Syria in 1956. - Graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts, Syria 1979. - Graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts, Carrara, Italy, 1979. - Personal exhibitions in France, Syria, Bahrain, Lebanon, Jordan and Kuwait, and the UAE - Collective exhibitions in the United Kingdom, Canada, Syria, United Arab Emirates, France, Egypt, Italy, Bahrain, Morocco and Switzerland. - Sculpture symposiums in Syria, Lebanon and Germany. - Golden prize, Lattakia Biennale, 1997 - Bronze prize, Alsharija Biennale, 1992 - Monuments commissioned : Tower of Memory, Syria; Umayyad Square, Damascus, Syria with Dr. Ihsan Intabi; The Gate of Syria in the Mediterranean Olympiad, Pari, Italy.
