Alliance Francaise Dubai

Founded in Paris in 1883, the Alliance Française created a worldwide network of more than 1160 non-profit organisations established now in 131 countries. Its mission is to promote France’s heritage and language as well as to encourage the discovery of its contemporary productions in order to create a cultural dialogue between the cultures of France and the hosting country.

Placed under the jurisdiction of the Consulate General of France in 1982, the Alliance Française in Dubai was built in 1993/94 on a piece of land offered by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and U.A.E. Minister of Defense, and it is known as the best place to learn French.

The Alliance Française’s mission goes beyond the promotion of the French language. Along with the French Embassy, we establish an annual cultural program that aims to represent the French culture in all its aspects. Cultural events, such as art exhibitions, cinema, dance, conferences, concerts, theatre, etc. are usually adapted to suit different audiences, French and non-French, adults and children, and are open to all.
