One of the most bizarre and compelling shows seen at last year’s Edinburgh Fringe, for one night only on Friday 29th April, the internationally renowned visual comedy absurdist Dr Brown is coming to DUCTAC with his twisted and gawky brand of anti-comedy.
A one man show that hangs on the twitches, stares and physical stamina of its protagonist and the sweat of a fearful audience, Dr Brown: Because, is a celebration of the absurd. It’s a skilful demonstration of the ability for humans to communicate clearly with very little dialogue.
The under- ground sensation of the 2010 festival season and winner of the Time Out Critic’s Choice Award abd the Sunday Times’ Best Newcomer, Dr Brown comes to Dubai having spent the year playing to packed houses in New York, Los Angeles, Toronto, Berlin, Prague, Hong Kong and Edinburgh where the Fringe review described his show as “Sublime” and Time Out called it “An utterly bizarre, dreadfully funny hour of uncompromising anti-comedy”.
Dr Brown: Because is a largely wordless act of absurdist clowning and downright uncomfortable weirdness. Leaving audiences, reviewers and technical staff delightfully bewildered, this critically acclaimed performer goes strange places, turns left, and then goes even stranger.
