3rd Charity Drum Circle @ Montgomery Dubai

In support of Al Ihsan Charity Centre and held under the patronage of Sheikh Abdul Aziz Al Nuaimi of Ajman, the 3^rd Charity Drum Circle 2008 will take place on Friday 16^th May 2008 at Montgomery Dubai, at Emirates Hills.

Supported but the Team Spirit from Flying Elephants, the event will also see live performance by the local musicians from Dubai Lime, a Dream Experience by Dave Crane, a Handicraft Souq, kids activities and a Live auction, all in a bid to raise over Dhs.85,000 to send the children of Al Ihsan Charity Centre back to school for the next academic year.

More funds are still required to enlist the rest of the children and to further provide development programs for the older children and women.

The original target was to raise over Dhs.100,000 the 2^nd Charity Drum Circle held at Kempinski Hotel, Ajman raised just Dhs. 14.575. The event in Ajman saw 200 participants take part at the drum circle with the highlight of the event being the jam session between the Arabic drummers from the Ajman Folklore Group and the African drummers. The session witnessed the unity of cultures through drumming when the two divisions took stage together.

About the Charity

Al Ihsan Charity Centre cares for a special layer of the society, namely the families who lost their breadwinner due to death, divorce, negligence, jail sentence or deportation, mounting to over 1500 households and covering over 6000 kids of all races and nationalities in UAE. The Centre was founded in 1998 by a proclamation from H.H. Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Member if the Supreme Council, Ruler of Ajman. Al Ihsan works closely with other charity and humanitarian organizations to ease the suffering of the less fortunate families in the UAE.
