The 2nd Charity Drum Circle 2008

The 2nd Charity Drum Circle 2008 will be held on 29th Feb 2008 at Ajman Kempinski Hotel, in support of Al Ihsan Charity Centre. Under the patronage of Sheikh Abdul Aziz Al Nuaimi, the volunteers of the Al Ihsan Charity Centre, Ajman and The Dubai Drums will organise the Sunset Drum Circle 2008 to raise funds for the charity's Back to School program.

With over 17 children of Al Ihsan Charity Centre currently waiting for their re-enrolment for the next school year, this event aims to raise over Dhs.100,000 to enlist these children back to school. The funds will also be allocated to further provide development programs for the older children and women in order to enhance their skill sets.

"We strongly believe that there is no future without education and that is why it is important to bring as many children as possible back to school. Children who are not fortunate are entitled to a chance at education and it is our responsibility to empower them with knowledge that will help turn their dreams to reality" said Petra Gericke, Volunteer, Al Ihsan Charity Centre

The Charity Drum Circle is expected to host variety of activities for the entire family including the Dubai Drum team who will take centre stage at sun set followed by Dubai Lime musicians performing original music. During the evening, there will be fire jugglers, African dancers, provided from Dubai Drums, and Arabic drummers followed by an auction of donated items. Handcraft stalls and kids' corner including bouncy castles, provided by Flying Elephants, will keep the children busy during the evening.

With a target of Dhs.100, 000 the volunteers are calling for the community to come together and help with donations and support. About the Charity

Al Ihsan Charity Centre cares for a special layer of the society, namely the families who lost their breadwinner due to death, divorce, negligence, jail sentence or deportation, mounting to over 1500 households and covering over 6000 kids of all races and nationalities in UAE. The Centre was founded in 1998 by a proclamation from H.H. Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Member if the Supreme Council, Ruler of Ajman. Al Ihsan works closely with other charity and humanitarian organizations to ease the suffering of the less fortunate families in the UAE.
