Taxis are the Bane of my Existence!

Taxis and taxi drivers… don’t you just love them!! Don’t you just love it when a million taxis go by without stopping to pick you up or when you call the taxi service and the line is busy, ur put on hold, or u get through and they tell u the taxi will be there in five minutes but turns up an hour late!! Sharjah taxis are the worst although Dubai taxis can sometimes be just as bad…just as in the following situation…..I live in Sharjah but was in Dubai visiting my doctor…after the doctor’s visit…I was with my friend and was trying to hail a taxi…eventually got into a taxi and told the taxi driver to please take us to Sharjah….he wasn’t too pleased about that but he did start driving so I thought…(wrongly)…that everything was ok…little did I know that when we got stuck in traffic he would react in the way he did….. He started asking over and over why Sharjah? Why do u live in Sharjah?...(while hitting his dashboard)…Hello…do u think anybody including the people who live in Sharjah…like living in Sharjah!!…because let’s face it…traffic is a ****h everywhere in this country…especially between Dubai and Sharjah and i appreciate that nobody likes to be in traffic…he still continued ranting saying effing this…effing that…how pleasant!! expand ur vocabulary will you!! Anyway…I finally got fed up…and said “well what are we supposed to do…fly to Sharjah???” And coincidentally we were actually near the airport! I hoped this would not aggravate the situation…and I don’t think it did…he just continued to be his ****y self….. Got home eventually and thanked the taxi driver…I always maintain my manners….although I did feel like flipping him the birdy…but I didn’t…I am too much of a lady to do that…my mama taught me well!! But…I did take down his taxi number…called up customer service and reported his wonderful behavior…rightly so I think…his superiors ended up giving him a verbal warning and deducting money from his wages…I did feel bad about that..really I did…but I suppose he needed to be reprimanded for his behavior….this happened a while back and thank goodness I haven’t had a reoccurrence of this situation!! No ill will is meant toward taxi drivers, the residents or city of Sharjah…..well..in general!!
