Following the success of last year’s Ramadan exhibition, Dubai Community Theatre & Arts Centre (DUCTAC) presents Kalimat, an annual exhibition capturing the elegance of the Arabic written word and its use in traditional and contemporary artwork. Selected artists from the region of various backgrounds e xhi bit artworks in a variety of styles, techniques and approaches in the spirit of tradition and Middle Eastern Culture.

‘Kalimat’ o pens on Tuesday 17 August - Monda y 13 September 2010. On display will be 50 artworks by emerging artists from the UAE, Oman, India, USA and Australia.

This diverse group all share a passion ei ther for traditional calligraphy or a more contemporary approach to presenting the written Arabic language. The artworks on display range from hand-painted calligraphy to digitally produced and printed lettering and textured works.
