LG Electronics (LG) once again kicks-off the LG Life Tastes Good Championship, its popular international cooking contest now in its third year. With preliminary regional rounds taking place across seven countries in Middle East & Africa, the championship features amateur chefs competing to create the perfect dish using LG cooking appliances. Winners will compete in the regional rounds and conclude in a global event in Korea on 27-30 September, with 25 teams participating for the world title.
In the months leading up to the global final, countries across North America, South America, Europe, CIS and Asia will hold their own national and regional competitions.
In the UAE, the first preliminary rounds took place in Al Murooj Rotana Hotel, Dubai. Conte
stants were challenged to create two dishes in 45 minutes, using LG's SolarDOM, part of LG's lightweight oven range which cooks three times faster than conventional ovens.
After a tough battle resulting in many wonderful culinary creations, Nazreen Shah's succulent fish shahshlake and tasty vegetable garden rice won her a place in the regional rounds for the Individual category, to be held in Dubai in September. Team category winners, Nayyar Safdar and Samra Saad will also be going through to the regional round, to battle for a place in the global event.
‘Gourmet Guru', food critic, author of several cookbooks and famous Indian TV personality, Rakesh Puri, who also acted as one of the judges, treated the audience to a session of useful tips about how to get the most out of LG's SolarDOM with popular Indian entertainer and singer, Shobana Chandramohan adding musical flavour to the event, with her lively performances.
