This fun filled celebration is a major event in Dublin that is held each year in March. Celebrations include parades, green beer, costumes, shamrocks, parties, dancing, and meals of corned beef and cabbage. Some communities even go so far as to dye rivers or streams green!
In 2011, the St Patrick’s Day Festival (March 17-20) in Dublin is celebrated in style, with music, street theatre, family carnivals and up to 4000 performers joining the fun. And as part of this year’s festival, Limerick will host the SkyFest – a massive fireworks display over the River Shannon.
