The Lighter Side of Dubai
Whenever the name ‘Dubai’ is mentioned, the image that is instantaneously registered in the minds of people today is a picture of engineering prowess and architectural designs that have defied odds of great proportions. The man-made islands and awesome structures that have been built in this flourishing city have without doubt put Dubai in the top of every tourist’s itinerary.
So impressive has the Dubai Metropolis evolved into a city of ingenious concepts and designs of sheer beauty, even the world’s elite are stumbling upon their own shoelaces in haste just to own a piece of Dubai’s prime real estate.
While it may be true that Dubai may be a city in the pace of industrialization and modernization that is way ahead of most countries, Dubai is not just that. There may be tower cranes, bulldozers, and concrete cement mixing trucks rumbling all over the place non-stop, but Dubai has something else to show the world. Rich and extravagant as it is, Dubai has a soft spot that also deserves the eye of tourists and the world’s elite. These are the places where you will have an escape from the hustle and bustle of Dubai’s fast-paced atmosphere.

Dubai’s rich heritage is displayed in galleries and museums like the Majlis and the Art Attack Gallery. These galleries showcase artifacts that reflect on Dubai’s rich heritage and personality. Items such as glass sculpture, ceramics, jewelry, cutlery, collection of sofas, armchairs, divans and footstools. The relaxed atmosphere allows visitors to enjoy the art as well as the historic house itself.
Dubai Takes Time Out Too
Dubai is not always at work. There are a variety of sporting events that visitors may see as they tour around this bustling city. The Dubai Autodrome is a modern motor sports facility and has been used for concerts, events, and exhibitions.
On the outskirts of the city at Nad Al Sheba, Camel Racing is a major sport and it is quite a sight for tourists to see camels thundering along the track with small jockeys holding on for dear life.
Places of Worship
Dubai also has places its residents consider to sacred. The Grand Mosque is considered one of the largest mosques in the United Arab Emirates. Visitors can take photos but cannot enter the mosque.
The Jumeirah Mosque is also considered by many to be the most beautiful. An exact copy of a mosque in Cairo that is eight times its size, the Jumeirah Mosque is a fine example of Islamic architecture.
